This morning I was all bummed out because my session with Cita, the four month old rescue pup from Puerto Rico, had to be postponed. So, to get my fix of furry friends and cutie kids, I visited the Monadnock Humane Society with Travis and my friend Linh and her beautiful daughter Minh-khue. They are in the market to rescue a dog sometime soon, though Minh-khue seemed to prefer the cats! You’ll see that she started out quite nervous, but ened up really enjoying visiting the animals at the shelter– it was great to see this place was crazy busy today! I hope that lots of animals found forever homes today…

On the top left, you’ll see Lucy, a Jack Russell / American Statfordshire Terrier mix who is about five months old. She’ll do best in a family without kids, but don’t let that fool you; this girl was soooo sweet! She’s already been fixed and is ready to go home.
I didn’t catch the names or ages of the cats, as I was focused mostly on Min-quai, but if you’re interested, visit the MHS website or go to petfinder.com to get more info.
On the bottom left, and below, is the dog that stole both Travis’ and my hearts. She is a sixteen week old American Bulldog puppy named Penny. Oh. My. Gosh. It was SO SO hard to tear ourselves away from there and not bring her home for Tucker to have a new baby sister! She’s also been fixed, but is not ready for adoption yet. Oh how I wish we could take in another dog right now!

I can’t believe that this might have been my last visit to MHS before our big move to Maine! I’m excited to make new contacts at the Maine shelters and vet clinics, but I’ll miss this, my first animal shelter to volunteer at.
Finally, another HUGE thank you to Carrie Bombria for the amazing storyboards! I’m having so much fun with these. Get your own at Pink Ink Studios. Check back soon for a session with Cita!
