Let me introduce you to some amazing pups! Yesterday was my first time documenting a drop-off– a big truck full of southern dogs arrived in Wells, Maine, rescued by a number of families and organizations, including Lucky Pup Rescue. Lucky Pup Rescue is a small, non-profit, family-run rescue based in Southern Maine. They believe that all dogs deserve a safe and happy home regardless of where they are from; they work to re-home both local dogs in need and Southern dogs from our overcrowded partner shelters.
Each Lucky Pup dog just spent their first night in a loving foster home– foster parents came to pick them up, and keep these pups healthy and happy while they wait for their forever home.
I want you to meet one very special pup, Morris. Morris is an American Pit Bull Terrier who is full of love and life, and who I am afraid has experienced lots of breed discrimination in his short life. Morris has spent a looong time in a very small space, and his time down south was about to expire when the lovely folks from Lucky Pup met Morris in Arkansas and arranged a foster home for him here in Maine.
Here is Morris when he was just about to exit the truck after his long, long, trip to Maine.

Are you, or someone you know, ready to add a new canine to your brood? I recommend considering an adult dog like Morris. While there are certainly lots of very young puppies out there to be rescued, adult dogs have a harder time finding their forever homes.
Want to see a couple more Lucky Pups?
This is David, a 10 month old Bernese Mountain Dog mix. He’s going to be one big, sweet dog for someone!

Next up are Tess and Tara, two little Lab babies!

ps: anyone who adopts from Lucky Pup gets 1/2 off a session with NMD![]()
