Lately I’ve been having some trouble recalling words and a few days before the fourth of July, I said to my husband “we have to get those fire sprinklers for the fourth!!” Sparklers. Right.
Anyway, we had some fun experimenting with them before the bugs drove us back inside. I’ve got lots more ideas to come when it is a cooler night and I’ll put on some long sleeves!
Regardless, this was a fun start. In case you’re curious about settings: camera was tripod mounted using a remote, with exposures between 8-15 seconds (nmd was at 8, the one with Travis behind me with sparklers behind my head is 15, the squiggle heart is 10) each at f/14, manual focus set to infinity, and at 24mm on my 24-120 lens. In a couple I tried popping the flash (off camera) but I am going to try again with a flashlight next time. Also we’re going to try traditional sparklers– these were the multi colored ones that take a while to light.
