I met up with Lilah and her family at the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge over Thanksgiving weekend– a few things. 1) Wow, what an awesome place to shoot, and to play! I am going back there both to work and to walk with my own family asap! 2) This family was so easy to work with and so fun, and I think that mom Sonya might just be one of the most photogenic people I’ve met. Seriously the woman didn’t have one single shot with eyes closed or funky facial expression. That is nearly unheard of when I take 100+ photos… 3) I felt really honored to do this shoot, as Sonya scheduled this session months ago deliberately on this date when her parents would be in town from Ohio. 4) I kindof want to hire Nana as an assistant– she was so helpful in getting sweet Lilah’s attention and showed no hesitancy in joining in making monkey sounds to get her to turn to look at me and smile!
