Long time no blog! Real life just keeps getting in the way of my best laid blogging plans 🙂

A couple of weeks ago I spent a lovely morning with Steve and Kyle, who will be getting married this fall at the Beachmere Inn in Ogunquit. We were able to get a lay of the land for their big day and grab a few engagement photos while we were at it, despite impending storms and some serious cloud cover.

So excited to shoot their wedding in a few months!

She’s 13 months old already! We had to postpone Chandler’s one year session because of the freak snowstorm and coldsnap in late March. Even on our reschedule date, it was a chilly, windy April day. But she is a total trooper… I didn’t hear a peep of complaint from her in a full hour of playing and shooting this session. Amazing, if you ask me!! For me the best part of this session was watching Chandler bond with her big brother Kyle on this fantastic swing made for an adult and a baby to swing together. So fun.

My dearest childhood friend recently gave birth to her second daughter. What a blessing… my heart was so full during this session with them.

Here’s baby L at 4 weeks.

You may have noticed I’ve been a little bit… absent on social media lately. A few months ago it all just got to be too much and I gave myself permission to back off on a few things. With 2016 comes a fresh start and a new commitment to blogging, and I couldn’t be happier to start off with Baby Sam, who was born a couple of weeks ago to two of my very favorite clients, Lizzy and Darin, whose wedding I shot way back in one of my first seasons in business!

Shooting and editing this session brought me back to the fundamentals and what I love maybe the most: newborn sessions. Rarely have I seen a baby this young who was so interactive. While watching his parents interacting with him, I swear he was reaching up to hold their hands, looking right into their eyes and saying “Yes, you two, I am totally feeling the love!” There is something totally magical about newborn sessions, and I felt it here for sure.

Amid so many thoughtful, handmade details, like a family tree that Lizzy made from cards at their baby shower, a mobile handmade by Darin, and blankets and hats created by his family and friends, this boy is already so surrounded in love.
